Delete your LocalSelections account
This page is for the LocalSelections app and website (localselections.com), operated by City Reviewers LLC. You can delete your account and the data tied to it yourself, at any time. You don’t need the app installed to do it.
Delete it yourself
- Log in to your account (in the app, or at localselections.com).
- Open your Account page and scroll to “Delete account”.
- Type your account email to confirm. Deletion happens immediately and can’t be undone.
How long it takes
Deleting it yourself is immediate: your account is removed and you are signed out the moment you confirm. Our database is backed up automatically each day and those backups are kept for about a week, so a copy of the deleted data can remain in a backup for up to that long before it rolls off; it is not used for anything and is not restored except after a failure of our own database. If you email us instead, we’ll delete the account within 30 days of confirming it’s yours.
Can’t log in?
Email support@localselections.com from the address on the account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We’ll delete the account and reply to confirm (see “How long it takes” above).
What is deleted
Your profile and email, subscription record, API keys, vendor account and listings (including boosted placement purchases), and everything you saved: custom wheels, dice, coins, card decks and rock-paper-scissors games, decision matrices, weekly planner entries and recap shares, plus events you submitted and the reports you filed on events and places. If you have an active paid subscription it is cancelled as part of the deletion.
What is kept
Past decision sessions, group sessions and rock-paper-scissors duels you took part in are kept with the link to you removed — the same anonymous form they have for people who never make an account — because they feed the aggregated, anonymous Trends. Before that link is removed we clear the words that were yours from them: the display name you used in a group session or duel, the searches you typed into Just Ask, and the data we use to personalize your suggestions. The options in a spin (for example the entries on a custom wheel) can remain in that anonymous history. Stripe keeps its own billing records (your payment history and customer record) as it is required to for tax and legal reasons. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Two cases need one extra step: a vendor account with an active boosted listing must cancel the boost first (from the vendor dashboard, with a refund), and an admin account can’t delete itself. Email us and we’ll help.
